Basil Hoffman, RIP

Published by 2 Comments

More later, but a great friend, Basil Hoffman, is no longer with us..

We just heard the news.  A few friends gathered on the phone, across the country, and told Basil stories.  It was a sad, but cheerful, reverie, and that should tell you something about the man.

My husband and I very much admired the man.
A very likeable guy, talent beaming with his great voice, face and showing a pleasant interest in others. We think he was in an old movie or two.
A police officer in the 1951 movie, The Day The Earth Stood Still. A long career! Starred at Riley’s farm in a few roles with us!
    It’s sad news indeed!
    Our heartfelt sympathies.
    He’ll be missed.
    God rest his soul.

We have fond memories of him at The Nick Searcy Courage Invitational in 2014. (He was the Grand Marshall) I have a great picture of him, my son and you.
