ROARING TWENTIES MUSICAL “PROHIBITION” DANCES INTO OAK GLEN

Flappers and bootleggers face off with gangsters and cops in a lively 1920s dinner show!

Riley’s Farm Theatre Company is proud to present their original Roaring Twenties dinner show Prohibition:  Angels in the Dark in scenic Oak Glen this July!  The upbeat, family-friendly show was written and directed by RFTC Artistic Director Eric Drazin and features classic songs from the 1920s.   Prohibition, set in old Chicago in 1928,  highlights a slice of vibrant life just after the nation went “dry”.  Hayrides through the apple and pear orchards of Oak Glen are offered at the start of the evening, and they provide the perfect opportunity for patrons to mingle with bootleggers and lawmen alike.   Guests with the speakeasy password can wet their whistle on something stronger than tea – that is, if famous gangster Smilin’ Jimmy Frabrini comes through!  Dinner includes delicious and hearty Italian fare served by the cast. Staged drama and the crooning of sweet songbirds and cool canaries is complimented by the live accompaniment, and guests are treated to a complimentary Charleston dance lesson to boot.

The diverse, playful ensemble cast of Prohibition regularly interacts with guests throughout the evening, and the lively, jazzy music of the 1920s provides a jovial and nostalgic atmosphere for guests to savor.  The rich, soulful vocal stylings of Emily Coleman (Linda) are juxtaposed with the sweet, bubbly performance of  Erin Drazin (Kitty), providing a delightful musical balance that is the “bee’s knees”.  Gatsby tribute jazz band Hotsy Totsy Boys also delivers a fun, engaging musical experience that encourages toe-tapping and Charleston dancing in between scenes.

Prohibition:  Angels in the Dark opens July 11th at the Packing Shed Theater on Riley’s Farm (12261 S. Oak Glen Road, Oak Glen, CA 92399) and shows take place on July 11th, 17th, 18th, 24th, and 25th. Friday night performances begin at 7:00 PM, and Saturday evening performances begin at 6:00 PM.  Doors open 30 minutes prior to the event start time.  Tickets are available by calling (909) 790-8463 and via the web at rileysfarm.com    Tickets are $34 for Friday performances and $36 for Saturday performances.  Admission includes dinner, live music and dancing, drama, and a tractor hayride.  Reservations are required for this event.  Parking is free.
