Crop Report
APPLES
Upper and Lower Monster.
Upper: Gala
Lower: Senshu
Caveat: we need to tag the trees with ribbons that are able to be picked. I received feedback that telling people in the Lower Monster to pick the “red apples” – which is true for the Senshu – but NOT true for the Rome Beauty which is in the same orchard. Rome Beauties are NOT ready.
Old 51 Orchard
the remainder of pears are ready, but the apples are NOT ready
Circle Orchard
The pears in the circle orchard are ready to go
The Orchard by the Cider House has pears and Johnathan Apples that are ready. The Johnathan apples are a tart apple right now like the Granny Smith – but they need to be picked. The Pears in this orchard are not as ripe as the Old 51 Orchard, but they are good to go. The apples that are lining the west side of the road of the cider house are good to go as well.
Heirloom apples from the North and South Terrace Orchards will be tagged and be picked by staff for retail.
BERRIES
Strawberries Light but very good
Raspberries Light but ver y good
Blackberries should be closed – lots of berries but very unripe and sour
FLOWERS
Awesome!!!
PUMPKINS
Upper field pumpkins are ready for picking. There are some pumpkins in the lower field, but staff will pick those and bring them down for retail
These are my suggestions, but of course, final say comes from Mr Riley
You all are awesome! Have a great night!!
