FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 18, 2015 Contact: Angela Shaddix info@rileysfarm.com (909) 790-TIME (8463)THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW DELIVERS FALL DELIGHTS
Hayrides, fall contests, live music, and family-friendly dinner theatre make for fantastic fall fun!
Riley’s Farm Theatre Company is proud to present their most popular dinner theatre event of the year – The Legend of Sleepy Hollow – in scenic Oak Glen this September and October! The historic Packing Shed Theater on Riley’s Farm will host the original production, which is directed by Eric Drazin and based on Washington Irving’s classic tale. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow dinner event features hayrides through the apple and pear orchards, live music and dancing, a farm-fresh feast, and interactive family-friendly drama – with a special appearance by the Headless Horseman and his flaming pumpkin! Patrons witness the romantic rivalry between Tarrytown’s schoolmaster, Ichabod Crane, and the charismatic countryman Brom Bones as they try to win the heart of the lovely Katrina Van Tassel. Who will Katrina choose, and what will become of Ichabod if he meets the Headless Horseman?
The dinner menu for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow includes a choice of Angus Tri tip or barbecue chicken, homemade biscuit, baked beans, baked potato, a fresh green salad, and apple crisp for dessert. Four classic country competitions round out the jovial autumnal evening, including pumpkin carving, seed spitting, apple bobbing, and pie eating. Giant caramel apples and freshly baked five-pound apple pies are presented as prizes for the victors.
The Bost Family Traditions will be in attendance to provide live bluegrass and country-style music all evening long. The energetic, five piece band has been repeatedly called “Arizona’s First Family of Entertainment”, and the Sierra Vista Herald lauded them as the “quintessential family band.” The Bost Family Traditions sound has developed into a unique, stylistic blend characterized by powerful, ‘western-style’ vocal harmony superimposed over the hard-driving instrumental tradition of Appalachia.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow opens on Saturday, September 26th at the Packing Shed Theater on Riley’s Farm (12261 S. Oak Glen Road, Oak Glen, CA 92399), with performances on October 2, 3, 8-10, 15-17, and 22-24. Saturday evening performances take place from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
