Valentine’s Day

Treat your sweetheart to a romantic, candle-lit dinner in our Hawk’s Head Tavern.

As legend has it, when the Roman Emperor Claudius needed more men for his army, he outlawed marriage. A brave priest named Valentine defied the old tyrant and soon became known as the friend of sweethearts. When consigned to jail, and awaiting his execution, the priest was befriended by the jailer’s daughter, and the last words he wrote to her were signed, “your Valentine.”

Celebrate this good old tradition of romance on Riley’s Farm this year, with great food, love songs old and new by the Harmony Sisters, and great fun! Share a sonnet for your loved one, or take to the stage to compete in our “Romeo & Juliet” reading, for a chance to win a delicious prize from our bakery. With a candle-lit tavern, and your sweetheart by your side, you can’t go wrong!

We now serve a fine selection of hard ciders, wine, and beer (not included with your dinner price). No outside beverages are permitted at this event.

Because this event takes place in  our charming, 18th century candle-lit tavern, seating is limited.  To accommodate our guests, couples may be seated at shared tables at our discretion.

Early seating will begin at 6:30 PM.
