BIG BAND NIGHT DANCES THROUGH OAK GLEN

Live big band music,  dancing, 1940s fashion, comedy and hayrides make Big Band Night an enchanting evening to remember!

Riley’s Farm Theatre Company is proud to present Big Band Night in scenic Oak Glen this September 19th!  The historic apple Packing Shed on Riley’s Farm will host the charming post -WII event which celebrates the jubilant spirit of 1946.  Guests don their best 1940s attire and take a country hayride through the scenic apple and pear orchards  before feasting on a mouth-watering meal, witnessing the comedic delights of a revival of Abbott and Costello’s famous “Who’s on First” routine, and dancing the night away to the live big band music.

The Harmony Sisters and their Little Big Band will be on board to keep the joint swingin’ and  evoke all the nostalgia and charm of the 1940s as they provide all the tunes for Big Band Night! With decades of experience and a love for the intricate harmonies of the Andrews Sisters, The Harmony Sisters and their Little Big Band present a jovial, energetic set that beckons toes to tap and heartstrings to dance.  Fan favorites include “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “Don’t Sit Under the Apple Tree (With Anyone Else but Me)” – a perfect fit for the working apple farm hosting Big Band Night!  To season the evening’s entertainment with smiles and to honor the genius of Abbott and Costello,  sibling duo Eric and Andrew Drazin will revive the famous comedic “Who’s on First?” routine to delight the crowd.

Hep cats looking to sate their thirst at Big Band Night can enjoy a cold pint of Betty IPA or Orange Wheat – two local favorites from Hangar 24 Craft Brewery that will be in good supply for the event – or a host of other hard ciders, ales, and fine wines available at an additional cost.  The dinner menu includes a choice of steak or chicken from the Backwoods BBQ, seasoned green beans, mashed red potatoes, cornbread, fresh green salad, and peach-cherry cobbler for dessert.

Big Band Night will be held on September 19th at the Packing Shed on Riley’s Farm (12261 S. Oak Glen Road, Oak Glen, CA 92399) from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  Tickets are available by calling (909) 790-8463 or via the web at rileysfarm.com   Tickets for adults are $35 per person, children’s tickets (age 3-12) are $30, and children under age three receive complimentary admission to this event.  Admission includes dinner,  live music and dancing, comedic entertainment, and a tractor hayride through scenic Oak Glen.  Big Band Night features a costume contest, and the prize is a freshly baked five pound apple pie.  Donations will also be accepted as we raise awareness and support Wounded Warrior Project at this event.  Fine wines, hard ciders, ales and beer are available at an additional cost.  Reservations are required for this event.  Parking is free.
