COLONIAL PUBLIC HOUSE SERVES HIGH TEA AND AMERICAN HISTORY ON A SILVER PLATTER

The Hawk’s Head Public House now offers Tea Time with a twist in Oak Glen!

Walking into the Hawk’s Head Public House is akin to stepping into America’s revolutionary past, and now patrons are invited to visit to take tea in the style and etiquette of the 18th century!   Tea service includes all of the elegant traditional accoutrements needed to have a proper colonial tea time, and is graciously rendered by a tavern server in full 18th century attire.   Newcomers and tea aficionados alike are welcome to enjoy delicious fare and the rich, remarkable atmosphere of the Hawk’s Head Public House during tea time.

Loose leaf tea selections by Oliver Pluff & Co. include Colonial Bohea, Young Hyson, and Lapsang Souchong  (highly popular colonial teas, and three of the varieties tossed overboard during the Boston Tea Party in 1773).  Additional tea varieties available include Peppermint and Cinnamon Orange Spice.

Seasonal handmade delights from the onsite bakery are sure to please the palate, including freshly baked strawberry scones, colonial doughnuts, apple dumplings, giant chocolate chip cookies, and fruit turnovers.    Fruit and cream tarts and delightful tea sandwiches round out a delectable menu of fresh offerings.

Tea service is available for individuals and grand parties of up to 40 people, and is offered Monday-Friday from 11:00 AM -3:30 PM by reservation only.   For reservations or more information call (909) 797-7534. The Hawk’s Head Public House is a family-friendly venue located in Colonial Chesterfield at Riley’s Farm (12261 S. Oak Glen Road, Oak Glen, CA  92399).
